Coach Patrick is an accomplished trail and road runner, with over 18 races of marathon distance or longer.  But he discovered open water swimming in San Francisco Bay 10 years ago, and has never looked back.  He has since done multiple Alcatraz crossings, swam the Golden Gate Bridge, and completed the Bridge to Bridge 10k swim, and participated in open water swims around the world.  He began coaching open water swimming in 2020.

Coach Patrick is an ASCA certified coach, and also a Red Cross certified Deep Water Lifeguard.  He especially enjoys introducing first time open water swimmers to the glory of the Bay!
